Sixaxis Dualshock 3 Connecting via USB on windows

Everyone Thank  Break very much!

  1. First, of course, you need to download the files. Go to the download page and choose the files that correspond to your system -- 32bits for x86 and 64bits for x64.
  2.  After the download is finished you'll end up with a .rar file, extract and run the .exe that's inside it. If you want to specify where to install it, the first step will give you the option. Otherwise, just use the default (C:\Program Files\MotioninJoy\ds3) to avoid any future issues.
  3. If you have a 32 bit (x86) system, you can skip this step, but x64 users need to restart their computers now. Hold F8 upon startup and choose the "Disable Driver Signing Enforcement" option (keep in mind that you will have to do this every time you restart your computer if you want to use unsigned drivers. I feel that this is currently the easiest and most simple method to do this), then do the next step.windows 7 advanced boot options
  4. Use USB to connect your PS3 controller. Regardless of whether it's a SIXAXIS or DUALSHOCK3, WINDOWS will install it's own drivers. You can even see it in the Game Control Devices in the Control Panel, but it won't work. I'm not actually sure if Sony did that on purpose, but in any case.. everything looks normal, it just won't work.

  6. Start->All Programs->MotioninJoy->Install USB Driver Right click and use the "Run as administrator" option. After several seconds, Notepad will pop up and give you the install status. If the last line is “SUCCESS: installed package C:\Program Files\MotioninJoy\ds3\drivers\MijUfilt.inf.” then the drivers installed correctly. (Note that if you want to use a different USB port, you will have to repeat this step.)

  7. install usb driver
  8. First hit the PS button to wake up the controller (you will have to do that every time you turn off the computer or disconnect the USB cable) then navigate to Control Panel->Devices and Printers->Game Controllers. You can press buttons here and see them reacting. The analog isn't going to work just yet, don't worry.

  10. Go to Start->All Programs->MotioninJoy->DS3 TOOL Here you can choose between 4 profiles and the vibration function.
    • Digital Gamepad(Dpad, without joystick) Digital set up, Dpad works off of the X/Y axis. This is like the PS1 controller, works well for soccer games.
    • Analog Gamepad1(POV,Joysticks)Dpad is set to POV/hat switch, the 2 analog sticks are set up on the X,Y, Z and RZ axes. This is like a PS2 controller and is currently the most used.
    • Analog Gamepad2(POV,Joysticks,Analog Triggers)Dpad is set to POV/hat switch, the 2 analog sticks are set up on the X,Y, Z and RZ axes, L2 and R2 are also on an axis. This works well for racing games and is similar to the XBOX 360 controller.
    • Analog Gamepad3(POV,Joysticks,Analog Triggers,Motion sensor) This is similar to Gamepad2 with the added effect of motion sensors. At the moment it's not very practical.
    • Emulate Xinput Imitates the XBOX 360 controller. Is currently greyed out because it's still unusable.
    • Enable vibration Enables vibration. [duh]
    • Enable Option Applies the above settings.

  11. If you only want to use USB, you should be able to operate it normally from here.

Almost Working

I configured my Sixaxis to work on Battlefield 2, but when I tried to play, the "look around" axis was still wired to my mouse. Any suggestions?

Win 7 x64 Driver without pressing F8

  • A Tutorial how to install this driver on Windows 7 x64 to bypass the Driver Signature Enforcement and play with your PS3 controller without pressing F8 while booting.

Perfect.

Simple to install, got it first time with no problems. Installed it on 64bit Win7.  Motion sensors work, vibration and all buttons. Thanks!

Bingo!

Thanks! Everything worked fine. Tested with Arkham Asylum.

Install USB / Bluetooth Drivers

What do I do when I only have "Install MotionJoy Driver" only? Does it install both USB and Bluetooth?

tough one 4 ger-man

man, i needed some time to get that done.i dont know if its the instruction or if im just dumb, but it was a tough one. first i took 32bit than i realised that i need 64bit xD. then i got confused in the order of steps, but in the end i got it. i play trackmania with my dualshock 3 now and it works fine. that i have to press f8 on each startup is a little bit annoying but hey, it works. no bullshit i think, the menu is good and it was satisfiying to see it recordnizing the controller after 3 hours. thanks.

Difficulty

I love the comments in the forum. Found the instructions to be, not user friendly, but straightforward.   After two restarts, I finally got the program AND control panel to recognize the dualshock 3. Vibration is perfect. So far so good on Borderlands.

WHAT?

I followed everything to the dot until step 5 when i went to check on my controller it was no longer there. Vista 64x doesn't reconize it anymore. and instead of what up there i got [SUCCESS: installed package C:\Program Files\MotioninJoy\ds3\drivers\MijXinput.inf.]. Did i do something wrong? Please help =[
